- Veerabaghu goes to deliver Lord Muruga's message to Suran that the Devas be released
- Suran refuses to give the messenger, Veerabaghu a place to sit.
- Veerabaghu prays to Lord Muruga who then conjures a throne for him that is equal to Suran's
- Veerabaghu takes his seat and speaks to Suran.
- He reveals that Lord Muruga is an amsa of Lord Shiva, and that Suran's life will be spared if he agrees to release the Devas.
- Hearing this, Suran becomes furious and orders his men to throw Veerabaghu into jail
- Veerabaghu single-handedly fights Suran's army and then sets fire to his land before escaping.
- Veerabaghu returns to Lord Muruga, who then decides to go to war.
- After Veerabaghu's escape, Suran sits with his advisors to decide what must be done.
- While most of Suran's advisors encourage him to face Muruga, his brother, Singhamukan, dissents.
- Attempting to save his brother, Singhamukan requests that the devas be released as Lord Muruga cannot be defeated.
- Suran becomes angry at his brother, who then relents and accepts his fate.
- Suran orders the devas to clean his land and bring it back to order.
- Banugopan, Suran's son, also tries to convince Suran that he cannot defeat Lord Muruga.
- Suran is still unable to accept this, and so, Banugopan agrees to go to war.
- Banugopan meets Veerabaghu in battle and is ultimately killed by Veerabhagu.
